Donating Details

Date of monthly transactions – Monthly donations are processed on the same day each month based on the date you first subscribed. If you subscribed on the 5th, your monthly donation will be processed on the 5th of each month. Should you subscribe on the 29th, 30th, or 31st, your cycle will eventually change to be the 1st of the month as soon as a month arrives that does not have that date in it. For example: if you subscribed on the 31st of July, your donations schedule will appears as

  • July 31st
  • August 31st
  • October 1st
  • November 1st

Modifying your monthly donation subscription – If you wish to change your monthly subscription, use the above link to subscribe for a new subscription with the details you would like. As long as you use the same details (credit card number or PayPal account) you will be offered the option to create a new subscription or to modify your existing subscription during the PayPal confirmation.

Modifying your Credit Card or other contact information – To change any of your information, log into PayPal and make your changes there. If you did not set up a PayPal account with your subscription, you can create a PayPal account with the same credit card information used for your subscription and you will be able to modify your contact information using your PayPal account.

Name of donor – If you wish your name or the name of a person to honor to be made public by The ArQuives, please add the name to the donation. For one time donations, this question will appear during the payment processing as the “Public name to recognize”. For monthly donations, enter your name in the field “This gift is in honour of:”.

PayPal – The ArQuives uses PayPal for donation transaction processing. You do not need a PayPal account to donate, although we do recommend you set up a free PayPal account if you set up monthly subscriptions. It will make it easier for you to change your credit card information or other subscription details in the future.

Guardians of the Archives – A monthly subscription of $85 or more will qualify you for Guardian of the Archives status which recognizes people who contribute $1000 or more per year

Security – All donations are processed using the highly secure PayPal system. The ArQuives does not get or store your credit card information in any way. Your personal information is only available to authorized representatives of The ArQuives for the purposes of issuing tax receipts and administering the donations. Only names provided for public credit for the donations will be made public.

Tax receipts – Are issued via email in January for all donations received by that email address in the preceding year. Please contact us if your email address has changed.

The ArQuives is located on the lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Haudenosaunee, the Anishnaabe and the Huron-Wendat. Today, Toronto is still the home to many Indigenous people from across Turtle Island and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land.

The ArQuives strives to gather the stories of the unheard and silenced voices of the 2SLGBTQ+ first peoples of this land. We acknowledge that some stories have already been lost, and we aim to ensure that those that remain and those that are to come are preserved for the future.

The ArQuives has an access ramp to the front door and a lift from the first floor to the second floor. There are volunteers available to operate the lift.

There is an accessible washroom on the first floor. All washrooms are gender-neutral.

The ArQuives is a scent-free environment.

Please contact The ArQuives if you have any specific questions about accessibility that we can help with at
