The traditional approach is for researchers to visit the Archives during our public service hours Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 7:30pm - 10pm.
Preliminary inquiries made remotely will take a minimum of 5 business days for acknowledgement but may take longer for actual results depending on the complexity of the topic.

Use of Digital Cameras and Scanners by Researchers
Please note that the Canadian Lesbian and Gay Archives does not permit researchers to bring or use any personally-owned scanning equipment (i.e. flatbed scanners). Researchers are permitted to use digital cameras.
If you are unable conduct research during our public service hours at 34 Isabella Street, Toronto, we now offer research assistance remotely for the following fee schedule:
Remote Research Research Fees
| Honorarium for archivist to conduct research | $20 per hour (after the first hour) |
| Scanning Fee (photographs and other images)* | $20 per image |
| Scanning Fee (text/documents to compact pdf)* | $1 per page |
| CD of scans delivered by regular mail (outside of Canada additional postage will be required) | $5 per disc |
* these can be delivered electronically at no additional fee.
Please note: Moving image footage is available for viewing only, and only when materials can withstand being played and cannot be duplicated for remote viewing.
