Current Exhibitions

The Canadian Lesbian and Gay Archives (CLGA) is aware of deficiencies in its facilities with respect to the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). In order to make its facilities AODA-compliant, the CLGA will be undergoing significant improvements that will inevitably impact its upcoming schedule of programs and events.

The CLGA’s Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to suspend its exhibitions programming until such a time as the CLGA can safely and effectively host artists, curators and visitors of all abilities. As of September 2016, all tentatively scheduled exhibitions will be suspended until further notice. Please know that this is not a reflection of the strength or value of your work, rather of the CLGA’s need to equally serve all members of our LGBTQ+ communities.

The CLGA apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause, and welcomes any questions or comments you may have as a result of this announcement, specifically as they relate to time-sensitive exhibitions. Many thanks for your understanding.

The Canadian Lesbian and Gay Archives is located on the traditional lands of the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation, the Haudenosaunee, the Anishnaabe and the Huron-Wendat. Today, Toronto is still the home to many Indigenous people from across Turtle Island and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land.

The CLGA strives to gather the stories of the unheard and silenced voices of the 2SLGBTQ+ first peoples of this land. We acknowledge that some stories have already been lost, and we aim to ensure that those that remain and those that are to come are preserved for the future.
