Material compiled on people, groups, and events

The Archives has thousands of vertical files. Half provide information on Canadian organizations, individuals and events; the rest hold material from outside Canada.

Unlike Archival Records, material in a vertical file was not originally gathered by the person or group named on the file. Instead, it is about that person or group -- compiled by the Archives over time from other sources.

The guides below list over 5,300 vertical files held at the Archives pertaining to Canadian organizations, plus organizations/individuals in the United Kingdom.
