We start our coverage of Toronto's 2000 Pride Week This link will open in a new browser window celebrations at their "official" kickoff at City Hall. 2,483 names are currently inscribed on the AIDS Memorial This link will open in a new browser window and although the rate that names are being added has slowed significantly, we must not forget that there still is no cure. With dance, musical performances and spoken word we joined together in Cawthra Park to celebrate the memory of loved ones we've lost to this disease.

Dyke March 2000
What a riot! Lesbians were mobbing the Rogers van to say hi (and more!) to our co-host Chris. And the sun actually shone, making the fifth annual Dyke March This link will open in a new browser window one of the best ever.

Pride & Remembrance Run 2000
720 runners made this year's Pride & Remembrance Run This link will open in a new browser window the largest in its five-year history. Over $28,000 was raised in support of PFLAG Toronto This link will open in a new browser window, the David Kelley Lesbian and Gay Community Counseling Services and Supporting Our Youth. MCCT Pride Day Celebration Service
Somebody up there must like us, because the Metropolitan Community Church of Toronto This link will open in a new browser window Sunday Pride service chased away the overnight rainstorms and made for a beautiful day. With music like they've got, you can't help but have a good time.

Blockorama 2000
This celebration of Black Pride started last year when plans for a float in the Parade fell through, proving that setbacks can be turned into even greater successes. We hook up with the organizers from Blackness Yes! plus DJs, drummers, drag queens, food and the Toronto School of Samba for a fantastic Pride Day party at the corner of Yonge and Maitland.
Thank you for helping make our fifth season fabulous, including our 100th episode celebrations and the best Pride Parade Special ever! We're off on a little summer hiatus, but we'll be back in the fall for the start of season six. Keep those emails and faxes coming, we love to hear from you. Have a great summer!
