Rupert Everett and "The Next Best Thing"
Boys, it seems your boys are in demand this year from single women clamoring for gay men to father their children. Will & Grace decided he's her "Plan B" This link will open in a new browser window a couple weeks ago, and now Madonna and her gay best friend (on screen and in real life) Rupert Everett have too many martinis and end up parents in "maybe not the perfect family - but The Next Best Thing" This link will open in a new browser window (or so says the media kit). Everett tells us the movie tries to move away from the stereotypes of what it means to be "gay" or a "mother," and also talks about Madonna's appeal to gay men (so much for dashing those stereotypes). We also chat with Benjamin Bratt, who plays the straight man Madonna's character falls in love with, setting off a mean child custody battle between presumably "the best thing" and "the next best thing."

Ellen: The End
Speaking of Will & Grace, This link will open in a new browser window we look back at a piece we aired in season three as the curtains fell on its groundbreaking predecessor Ellen. It's interesting to contrast the demise that Ellen faced in 1998 with the Top 5 ratings Will & Grace regularly achieve today. Check out Will & Grace on NBC Tuesday nights at 9 pm and see if you can figure out how they thrive while Ellen died.

"Village Voice"
Here's another next best thing. If you can't get on "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?" why not mug for our camera on Saturday night at the corner of Church and Wellesley? We can't pay you anything, but we won't ask any hard questions and make you look stupid (any stupidity would be your own doing).

Homo History
It's probably one of the most pervasive symbols of our community, but did you ever wonder how the pink triangle This link will open in a new browser window came to be associated with queer folk? Chris hits the books to find out.

Rex Harrington in "Onegin"
Rex Harrington This link will open in a new browser window has been the National Ballet of Canada's Principal Dancer for a dozen years now. We catch up with the Peterborough boy made good as he prepares for his signature role in the Pushkin-inspired "Onegin" to talk about his life in - and after - the ballet. He also gives us his thoughts on being an openly gay dancer (actually something of a rarity in ballet) and a bit of a celebrity in our little community.

"Dragging it Outta' You"
With ballet dancers in tight tights on his mind, our intrepid master of disguise "Big Straight Al" takes to the streets to ask folks "Have you ever had a homoerotic fantasy?"
