Update on Toronto’s Bid for the 2002 Gay Games
Toronto's bid for the 2002 Gay Games This link will open in a new browser window got a $25,000 boost from the City (that’s the old City of Toronto, not the big monstrous 1998 version) in September. Our cameras were at Woody's to catch Kyle Rae present the bid team with one of those big novelty cheques that politicians love to hand out, and wish them luck on the big decision in mid-November.

LGBOUT at the UofT
The last school year was a very difficult one for Lesbians, Gays and Bisexuals of the University of Toronto This link will open in a new browser window. The Student Administration Council refused to acknowledge LGBOUT as an official student group, insisted on retaining funds raised by successful "Homo Hop" dances for itself, and mismanaged a Carole Pope performance so badly that only ten people showed up! LGBOUT found itself in debt, and its phone lines disconnected. Supporters began to fear for its survival, while opponents hoped for its demise. We visited a new and rejuvenated LGBOUT determined to survive.
