viewer feedback season five
10%-Qtv logo

Email: Hi Guys, Just dropping a note to let you know what a great job you are doing. And what a great service you are performing for the community. Keep up the 'god' work.
Female: Hello. My friends and I just finished watching 10%-Qtv. We're all straight, but it was very interesting to watch and keep up the good work.
Male: I just caught your gay and lesbian show [episode one] and I think it's quite disgusting. I'm not surprised that Rogers would actually run this. It is quite disgusting.
Email: Cable 10% rocks! It is so well done, I am embarrassed to say as I work in television myself! Sure beats the s--- out of that crap on CP24 by a long shot! [it's not that bad - aj] The shooting, editing, sound are excellent. Please pass on my gratitude (and awe) to all those involved. I work at TVO, and maybe one day we can arrange for 10% to be re-broadcast on TVO. I have worked in TV for 25 years, and I can not believe how much effort you put into each show. Congrats on your season opener. It was great!
Email: Any plans to perhaps negociate with Outside Ontario Cable companies? Perhaps something of exchange with other TV gay programs.. it would be nice to get 10% in Montreal... Right now, to my knowledge, we only have the French "Sortie Gaie" on "Canal Vie" (kind of french Life channel).
Online form: Just like to say I love your show and appreciate seeing TOs queer community portrayed so wonderfully on TV! :) Keep up the great work!
Email: Just wanted to pass along my congratulations for the wonderful shows produced with such limited resources...
Email: I've watched twice, both times for about five minutes, and picked up negative energy between the two hosts. One was, unfortunately, stereotypical curt, unsmiling, tough, and the other was stereotypical, what can I do to please the unpleasant one. [But then the next two people write...]
Email: Hi Guys, The show is great. I'm not into the Church Street scene, but I am a gay man and I look forward to the show, because it is so well done.....even if some of the items cause me to arch an eyebrow......I mean some of the guests are, well, .....unusual. However....and dare I say this....the two hosts make a cute couple. I understand that the show is produced, directy by and stars people who are volunteers. This is remarkable, given the very high standard. It behoves me, therefore, not to take issue with the frequent repeats. Keep up the good work.
p.s. O.K., O.K, I have to say it.....That Alan is soooooo cute!
Online form: I have seen your show for the first time tonight and I must say I was quite impressed. For the half hour you kept me fixed on the tv, something that rarely happens with me since I'm not the biggest fan of the tube. Regardless, the show is put together very well in my opinion, you cover relevant topics of various types, and stay on the topics for a comfortable time frame (I'm not getting bored by any one thing going on to long). The backstreet boys being the least needed segment, but of course still funny, adding to the enjoyment of the program. Chris' reaction after finding out thats what Allen did for the "dragging it out of you" segment was pretty funny.
Which leads me to say I enjoyed the hosts who are both full of character and present a real (not ideal or stereo-typed) image of what gay people are like, who are getting insight into our subculture, providing a window for viewers of smaller communities who can not idenify with us as easily as Torontonians. Which brings me to the next point of thanking Rogers for airing this in the small towns also. Is this a recent change? I have seen 10%TV listed before in the TV guide but it would never be aired in my town (Brantford). [Should be on every Sunday night, with the exception of getting bumped for the odd hockey game. Contact your affiliate if you're not getting your 10%-Qtv - aj] I feel it (the show) can provide some insight for young adults unsure of their sexuality, whom are unable to discuss with other people their issues without being a bore. You can provide them with something. I remember while I was growing up I felt as if I was the only person. Your show would have made me feel better about my self during that period in my life where I found it hard to identify with others. Anyways thanks for the show
ps. I've complimented, suggested, but have not critized.....that colorful series of rotating rings you use in between segments has got to go. I know u can do better than that chezz. hehe
Email: I haven't watched QTV for awhile but tuned in last night after reading about it in Fab. I want to let you know that the show has improved since I last saw it. Alan's man-on-the-street thing was cute and the interview with Bob Smith was the most interesting and professional thing I've seen on your show. But I wonder why you chose to start the show with that long boring segment on the origins of words? Could you not have moved around a little bit or done something creative with it...it was an interresting topic that deserved better delivery. I also took exception to the thing about HIV vaccines. Where does your reporter get off saying AIDS is not a gay disease? In this country, sir, it is very much a gay disease. Anyway, keep doing the show. I promise to watch more often now.
Online form: Get rid of the stereotypes, start addressing reality. The dyke who wants to be a man should have a sex change and get off our tubes. We want realistic GAY TV, not womyn who want to be men, she should apply for transgender TV and stop riding on the backs of the rest of us fags who are perfectly content within our gender. I know this is politically incorrect, but what the hay? We don't have many media outlets available to gays and lesbians. Let's use the ones we have to serve the core of our constituency. [Chris just wants you to know that she doesn't want to be a man, and that the Chris you see on TV is the "real deal." - aj]
Email: Just finished watching the season-end show with my girlfriend and wanted to tell you guys what a fantastic job you're doing! We're always been very shy about the "gay" scene, as in hanging out in Lesbian bars or on Queen street- we find it intimidating. But QTV makes us feel like a part of the community... and bonus we saw ourselves on TV at the parade! Chris seems very cool and Alan is so funny, I have this feeling if I met them on the street I'd greet them like old friends. Anyhow, we love the show, keep up the good work, your show makes me even PROUDER to be gay.
Email: First, I wanted to say how much I enjoyed your coverage of the Pride Parade (all except the bit about "Oh no, cover your eyes!" as we [TNT MEN!] appeared on the scene! :-) I thought it was well produced and put together, and it was so nice that your hosts were knowledgeable and could say something about the groups. I was extremely impressed at the hard work you must have put in to get it [the subtitles on the webcast] all correct! Thank you, and congratulations! The video is a great resource! I do hope you keep it around online for some time to come.
Email: Turn away from your evil ways! This life of filth and disgust that you are now living can be washed away if you turn your eyes upon Jesus who can forgive all you sins. If you do not follow this warning you will pay for it with an eternity in hell. And when God asks you why you ignored me, what will you say? REPENT FROM YOUR SINS AND FOLLOW CHRIST I AM NOT ASHAMED, I HAVE SEEN GODS GLORY
