Email: Hello All, I am 16 years old and I am gay. I really appreciate your show. It kind of helped me come to terms with my sexuality. When I first thought to myself "Am I gay?" I denied it because of the negative slack that comes with being gay. That all gay people are pedophiles, thiefs, dirty, mentally unwell etc.. But when I watch your show I see the reality. Gay people are no different than straight people accept for who they are attracted to. When I saw these normal, decent people on your show I realized it's not such a bad thing to be gay. Unfortunately I have to deal with homophobic people every day from people at school, but I do have the gay/bi youth line #, which I never would of had if it wasn't for your TV show. If I had money I would send you monthly donations because I hope your show never goes away. I wish you guys and gals the best in the future and hope you all stay healthy and happy. |

![]() |
Online form: I watch it because Chris is almost as hot as my girlfried. What I don't like seeing is the same people being interviewed over and over again. I want to see gays and lesbian in communities other than the Church and Wellesley area. We all don't live downtown. |
![]() |
Online form: I want you to address the issue of why Shaw Cable in Windsor does not have your program!!!!! [Actually, as a customer, you would be the best person to contact Shaw Cable about carrying 10%-Qtv. - aj] |

Email: hello, I love the show and I've been watching it since the begining. I think Chris and AJ are fabulous, but I was just wondering what became of the former hosts of the show? [Liz is now a crack cameraperson at Bravo! television, and Stuart has gone back to school. - aj] |

Online form: I only watch the show to see Chris every week. Seriously I enjoy seeing what's going on in the queer community. The show is getting better. I see Alan is becoming less shy and Chris is becoming more butch. You're both great to watch. |

Email: I was only able to watch the last half of your show on Sunday, December 21, 1998, but saw part of an interview you did at Casey House with a young gentlemen (east indian in ancestory, I believe); is it possible to get a video-tape of this program; will it be re-broadcast; or is it possible to contact the person, from Casey House, who was interviewed; is it possible to get his name, so I may contact him at Casey House. Thank you in advance for all your help and assistance. Merry Christmas and Happy New Years. P.S.: Keep up the Great work. Looking forward to seeing more great QTV in 1999. [If you really want a copy of an episode, and don't catch the repeat broadcasts, Rogers can sell you a copy. - aj] |

Online form: Why not dedicate an entire show to Chris? She doesn't get enough airtime I don't watch the show to see Alan. He's just not my type. All joking aside, I do watch the show religiously. Keep up the good work. |

Online form: Well done! Other comments sent on-line show the intense ignorance and hatred toward gayness that exists in today's society (with a limited grasp of basic grammar blatant in those comments indicating a wider mental limitation), but now is a great time to be gay. QTV and similar efforts at raising awareness will continue to teach others that heterosexuality is not "normal" but simply common. And in the meantime it should demonstrate to others that the gay community is as diverse as any other: not all gay men are fashion-obsessed, bed-hopping, AIDS-positive interior decorators; not all lesbians are aggressive, sport-playing, head-shaving feminists. Those are stereotypes. Straight, gay, black or white, we are all human, and it's the humanity of those who happen (yes, *happen*, not choose) to be gay that should be documented. I, as do many others, look forward to watching QTV grow. |

Male: Hi Alan. Hi Chris. My name is ____ and I live in Toronto and I just caught your year-end show on Sunday night. It was a great show. It was really enjoyable. Your work is fantastic. I really enjoy it. Keep it up and good luck in the coming year. Happy New Year! |

Email: I was over at a friend's house surfing channels when I saw this amazingly cute guy on the TV screen!!!!!! Then, I found out that I was actually watching a gay show!!!! Wow!! I thought... Hey, I love cute guys, and I'm gay, this is the show for me!!!!!! Of course, the guy's name was Alan. Chris was awesome too!!!! (in a platonic way). |

Male: Hi. I just want to say as a gay 16-year old male that your show is really cool and there's nothing else on TV that really caters to me. I just wanted to say keep up the good work. |

Male: Calling in regards to a show called 10%-Qtv. I didn't think that that show was appropriate for public television viewing. It isn't appropriate for a Sunday evening, or any other times you air it. The content is explicit. [You called after watching episode ten - what, was the lesbian singing children's folk songs too much for you? - aj] |

Female: I just watched Qtv and I think I've been watching it off and on since it began around '95, and I've also begun watching CP24 and I have to tell you that I really prefer the Rogers Cable show much better. I'm not a real fan of the community, but it keeps me in touch with everything that is going on. I really like the production qualities. |
![]() |
Male: Hi guys, how are you doing? My name is ____ and I live in Mississauga. I'm 23 and I'm gay and I'm so proud to be gay. I was watching Qtv on Channel 10 in Mississauga and I just wanted to say that I really enjoy it. I always do, and keep up the good work. I look forward to watching future shows and GO Qtv! I hope you have a long endurance and I hope Rogers doesn't take you off the air as they did in the past in the suburban Toronto area. Anyway, way to go guys... Party on! |

Male: Hi, I just want to say I really enjoy 10%-Qtv. I enjoy the two hosts and the stories, with the exception of the Eating Out hosts Darryl and Patrick - I don't really find those guys funny and I just wanted to let you know that. Thank you. Otherwise the show is great and the host Alan is very cute. |

Email: I saw your show on Delwin Vriend, which was really well done. |

Online form: HI THERE! Thought I'd drop a line just to say how much I enjoy your show. Good luck with it! |

Email: Do you accept heterosexuals as program volunteers? [Well of course honey. It's not your fault you're "that way." Check the volunteering section for details. - aj] |

Online form: I just wanted to say congratulations on producing such a great show. I especially love the humour you add to your show, as well as the more "serious" segments. I'm stuck out here in suburbia and don't have an opportunity to participate in the community very much, but I feel connected through your show. And okay..okay..I'll admit it..Chris is cute, but that's not the main reason I watch, honestly, I mean I'm pretty sure that's not the reason, maybe it is..kind of..sort of..but no..not really. Seriously though, thanks for all your hard work. |

Email: Dear Alan & Chris: I am a regular viewer of your show. I think your show is really boring but I watch it because it's one of the only gay shows on. The best part of the show is watching Enza the supermodel... although I have often wondered what she would look like as a man. I would like to suggest a segment for your show. My suggestion was going to be about equal representation for bears and fat people. The hosts and interviewers are all skinny. We need some fat people representation on TV. I was looking at your web page and noticed tonight's show has a segment about bears and all I can say is, "it's about Time". I also wanted to mention that my gay friend Jeff is rather fond of Alan. He really likes pasty faced boys. My name is _____ and I am an twenty-seven year old bear. Until our next internet encounter. |

Email: Love your show and all its quirkiness (that's good!). Was wondering if you might be able to answer a question or if not maybe make some inquiries for me. Do you know if Rogers offers same-sex benefits to its employees? [Checked with them and apparently yes, they do. - aj] |

Email: My partner and I was watching your program on May 22nd and was quite disturbed by a performer you featured during a segment on Lesbian and Gay Comedians. The clip you showed featured Elvira Kurt who described how the gay community marched on Parliament a few years ago to protest the defeat of Bill 167. What we found utterly offensive was the fact that she imitated (what seemed to be) Phillipino maids who had to clean up the legistlature on that Sunday. This was the first time my partner watched your program and ironically, I had just informed him that this was a progresseive community show which I assumed was anti-racist, anti-sexist and of course, anti-homphobic. As two gay men of colour, we were extremely offended by what we saw and questioned your programming decisions. Haven't gays and lesbians already been marginalized enough by mainstream society without having to single out and ridicule other racial groups? You call your show "10% QTV" but you deliberately alienate certain groups that contribute to this 10%. We would both appreciate a more thoughtful, educated and inclusive approach in your future programming. As fans of comedy, we believe the power to laugh and to make others laugh is a precious gift. So you can imagine how it feels to be left out and ridiculed by the people sitting around you. Aren't those racial stereotypes outdated by now? |

Email: I was interested if you sell any episodes? I live in NYC and we don't get your show. [Rogers can sell you a copy of any of our shows - click here for details. - aj] |

Online form: great show, keep up the good work - you must be a tight group to get it all together heard about Citytv covering Pride, I'm sure you could do a better job of it considering you've been through it before anyway looking forward to coverage of Pride events.. thanks for the hard work QTV! |

Email: I would very much like to participate in the dragging it out of you segments, they're a riot. On another note, as a first-timer at the Toronto parade this year, I was rather disappointed. It's one thing to be somewhat disenfranchised in the "straight" world; but being in a crowd of thousands, as a newbie I felt completely alone. It seems to me the unity theme applied only to queer kid cliques. |
![]() |
Online form: I just wanna say that your show rocks!!!!!!! Your show gave me the strength and will to come out and say ever so proudly that i am gay and to hell with those homophobic bible thumping southern american republican types i mean it is the ninetys isn't it?, get with the program and give gay rights the place it needs in todays society. It's time to shout loud and proud for the twenty first century "were here were queer and thats the way its gonna be so hands off my sexuality" p.s enzas a real "qtv qt" love _____, 29 years old (i am a crossdresser) please show this on your show and website as i am not ashamed of who i am or what my sexual prefernce is. |

Email: I must commend you on your coverage of the Pride Parade. I waited with baited breath for the much touted coverage by CityTV. I was hoping for something akin to coverage of the Rose Bowl Parade, or some such extravaganza. I was sorely disappointed. They spent most of their time playing around, goofing off, and making fools of themselves. I was delighted to see your show on Sunday night and saw what I was waiting for. Information. You provided information on the floats, on the organizations, on the parade itself. It was insightful, informative, and it covered the parade, and not the hosts. Congrats. My only comment would be my concern for Chris & Alan's apparent lack of enthusiasm. they seemed impartial about being at the parade. Granted, the weather was not ideal, and I'm sure the task was daunting, but Chris & Alan could have been a little more excited about being there. I hope, and trust, that your coverage next year will be much the same, if not better. Keep up the good work, and show CityTV how it's done. |

Email: Just a little note that I heard that 10percent's Pride coverage was fantastic compared to others (ie. CITY's) and that the information presentation seemed accurate and supportive. |
